A Versatile And Functional Home Accessory

As you might know Jipsē Co Studio was born from a small home candle business. I started a soy candles business in 2015 and still have an active shop where you can purchase some of my yummy scented candles. For me, candles have always be the one item in my home that were a part of my self care rituals. They were moments I took for myself at the end of a long and busy day.

I decided to create fragrance stories through different scent blends as a way to encapsulate some of my favorite memories. These memories would burst into these quiet moments every time I lit a candle.

Today I continue to be a lover of candles as a home decor accessory that is both functional, decorative. In my own collection of candles, you will find both jar candles and candle tins that are available and occasionally I’ll have some candle accessories on the shop too. My soy wax candles continue to be a way I can deliver a physical product that will elevate the experiences people have in their own living space.

So undoubtedly one of my favorite home accessories are candles. Not only for their scent and decorative features, but also because What started as a way to elevate moods and atmosphere in my own personal home, turned into much more. I had a desire to help others elevate their homes no matter how small.

But outside of Jipsē Co Candles which you can shop here–there are plenty of other candles on the market that will add a decor element to your home. The soft glow of a brand new candle is especially satisfying on a cold evening. Regardless of your decor style, there is undoubtedly a candle to match or standout and make a statement. Check out the different types of candles to add style to your home.

Things To Keep In Mind Before Buying Candles:

Candle Function:

This may seem like an obvious one, but it’s 2023 and candle burning has come a long way. Some candles are created with specific functions in mind such as aromatherapy or relaxation and others may simply light candles as a moment in their self care rituals. There are different candle types like holiday candles or candles used to provide mood lighting to a space without any sort of scent throw. Knowing what function you want your candle to perform is key.

Candle Aesthetic:

Lately candle aesthetic has become a thing. There are decorative candles and candles may also be prioritized over the functionality as well. There are cylindrical candles, container candles, novelty candles and even a branded candle pot that speak of aesthetic and luxury. Candles are not only beautiful to burn but now there are also candle features and accessories that make it so much more than just a form of accent lighting.

Candle Wax:

Candle wax is important to consider because it affects things like burn time, drip rate, and how cleanly it burns. The most common types are paraffin wax, soy wax, coconut wax, beesewax and blends.

Paraffin wax candles for instance is cheaper and burns a lot of fumes into the air making it not the cleanest or most eco-friendly option. Soy wax and coconut wax on the other hand are eco friendly wax that are more natural, sustainable and cleaner burning.

Candle Burn Time:

A lit candle and how long that candle burns for is something to consider. Most manufacturers will give an approximate burn time on the candle package. Candles in jars usually contain soft wax, which contains more oil and has a lower melting point, causing them to burn faster. On the other hand, pillar candles have hard wax and the wick is inserted into a wax core, which can extend its burn time.

Candle Fragrance:

Among one of the most important factors for many candle lovers is the scent of a candle. Scented candles continue to be popular and are available in a range of different fragrances. And while some people prefer unscented candles and only burn candles for their warm glow, home fragrance candles are perfect for adding a distinct and delicious aroma to any room.
