Elevate Your Mood

First things first, elevate your mood and mindset! Get in the mood to celebrate the day by creating a space full of good vibes and wishes even if it’s just you this year. Ultimately the best way to approach anything is with intention. You may not be close to family and friends this year for whatever reason, but get on the phone or Zoom if you feel like connecting! I find that even a simple phone call can totally boost your mood when you’re missing someone.

Ease your mind into the day and realize you have a full day to enjoy all the things that you love! Turn on the Christmas music if you feel like or any music you feel like and give yourself permission to be excited!

Elevate Your Space

You can always elevate your living space no matter how big or small as we often say here. Treat your home exactly the way you would if you were to have guests over. Start A New Holiday Tradition

Your home is what you make it. That’s true whether you’re living in a studio apartment or a big house. If you’re living on your own then why not get into that mindset sooner than later. It’s a great time to start a new holiday tradition. And the best part is you can incorporate it as your household grows too.

Maybe you’ve wanted to try your hand at baking something new or maybe even recreating a family recipe. Start a holiday movie marathon or start DIY-ing some gifts to give. Throwing yourself into a fun project can be one of the best things to do alone at home. My personal favorite is baking in between pampering sessions.

If you’re not inclined to be so festive then now is a great time to really go over the top with it. You know what they say, if at first you don’t succeed try try again. The saying also applies to your festive attitude. Keep Christmas music playing in the background and make yourself a nice cup of hot coco or some mulled wine. And oh yea make sure to place some Christmas presents under the tree for yourself in advance. Why not you deserve it!

Get Cozy

What more do you need than a cozy home on Christmas? Sit by the Christmas tree and open a good book or better yet an aesthetically pleasing coffee table book. I could look through Live Beautiful for hours it’s one of my personal favorites. If you don’t have a cozy fireplace, there’s always YouTube to simulate that!
