  • Opt for lighter colors when it comes to walls and furniture pieces. Lighter shades tend to reflect more light, which can help create the illusion of a larger space.

Get Rich With Fabrics

If you’ve ever stayed at a five star hotel you know what I mean. Incorporate rich fabrics into the decor. Rich fabrics with prints and patterns, but also solids can instantly make any small bedroom feel more sophisticated and elegant. Think somewhere between maximalism and traditional interior design. This way you can sort of deflect from the lack of square footage and create focus elsewhere.

From fabric curtain to your bedding, rugs and even your upholstered headboard, make sure to choose fabrics that will give your space a luxurious and comfortable feel. Add in bold patterns and colors. Small bedrooms don’t have to be boring! Adding pops of color, and interesting patterns can create an eye-catching and inviting atmosphere in tiny bedroom.

Cozy Up The Atmosphere

Introduce texture and layer different materials for a cozy and luxurious feel. Adding texture to a small bedroom can instantly create an atmosphere of coziness and luxury. Layer faux fur rugs over hardwood floors, utilize velvet cushions on top of bedding. Invest in a plush rug.

A luxurious rug can instantly make any small bedroom feel more inviting, cozy and stylish. Choose a rug with a bold pattern or color if you want to create a bold statement piece for the space. You can even layer rugs if you want.- Don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures. Try adding plush throw blankets, fluffy throw pillows, and textured rugs to add a touch of coziness and luxury to your bedroom.

Create Drama With Lighting

Incorporate wall sconces or other pendant light or lighting fixtures into your bedroom decor. Creating a focal point with lighting is a great way to add an extra touch of drama high style and luxury to your bedroom. Strategically place lighting fixtures in your small bedroom to help create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort. For example, a pendant lamp against negative space of a wall or corner can create instant visual interest and drama. For added drama, choose statement lighting fixtures to hang above the bed or on either side of the wall.

Create a Statement Feature Wall

Give your small bedroom an instant upgrade with a statement feature wall. Whether you opt for bold colored wall paint or an eye-catching wallpaper, a feature wall or an accent wall is the perfect way to completely transform your small bedroom. You can also incorporate elements of texture into the feature wall – such as wood, stone, or brick for a more lavish and luxurious look. You can also add framed artwork as part of your feature wall design to give it an extra touch of sophistication.

Here are some things you need to make a small bedroom look nice:

Bedframe– The right bedframe can make a huge difference in the look of your bedroom. Choose one with a modern design that has simple lines and is slightly larger than your mattress size.

You don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money on a bedframe if you can’t afford too. A canopy bed can really create that luxurious feel because we often know them to exist in grandeur interiors. So that’s one bedframe idea.

Another is a four poster bed which is a great way to create an eye-catching centerpiece or guest room without breaking the bank. They even make four poster beds all kinds of sizes and styles. Alternatively, you can also opt for a simple headboard wall with lights for a stylish and affordable look. You can even go for a more understated bedframe and headboard.

Decorating at your budget should be something that you stick to because it can easily get out of hand. There are plenty of affordable options that will suffice in any style you like. For instance I chose this one from Ikea because what I wanted was a minimalist bedframe that wouldn’t overpower the room, but would fit nicely with the rest of my style. Wayfair is another great place to look for affordable bedframes as well. But don’t forget about Walmart, Target and Amazon.

Lighting– Lighting can help to create a cozy atmosphere, especially in small bedrooms. Try adding wall sconces, table lamps, or string lights for an inviting feel. Table lamps provide necessary task lighting for reading or studying and create a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Not to mention table lamps can really be a statement piece of home furnishing. I think Target has a beautiful range of table lamps. Amazon always impresses because I can almost always find light decor in styles that are on trend.

Accent Pillows – Adding accent pillows to a bed can instantly transform the look of any room. Choose colors and patterns that coordinate with the rest of your decor. They’re great for adding to a simple bed frame that needs a bit of texture and color to be eye-catching. I found great pillows on Etsy, Wayfair and Amazon.

Accessories – Accessorizing can turn any bedroom from drab to fab. Wall art, statues, mirrors, plants and bookshelves are all affordable accessories that can make an

Area Rugs – Rugs are great for defining spaces within a small bedroom, as well as providing an extra layer of warmth and cozy comfort. Layering rugs can also be a great way to add texture and dimension to the space. There are tons of beautiful rugs available online that could fit any budget. I recommend checking out Wayfair and Amazon for some great options!

Floating Shelves – Floating shelves are perfect for limited wall space in small bedrooms because they take up no floor space. Use these shelves to store books, plants, photos, and other items. Shelves are a great way to add vertical space to a room and display another focal point by styling them. If you live in a small apartment, storage solutions can help keep clutter at bay while still providing plenty of style and function.

Opt for wall-mounted shelves that are easy to access and attractive enough to double as decoration. Or try multi-functional pieces like ottomans or benches with built-in storage compartments. Under the bed storage boxes are also a great idea for keeping items tucked away.

Flowers– Adding beautiful fresh flowers to your bedroom is a simple and affordable way to breathe life into a space. Flowers also give that luxurious vibe and in my opinion illustrates your desire to make the space feel special. Fresh flowers are a thoughtful and elegant addition to any bedroom and can really bump up the glam factor.

Vases are another decorative object that I can’t get enough of. They are also a great way to bring in color and dimension to the room. The different shapes, sizes, materials and colors all add character.

Mirror – Mirrors are the perfect solution for making small spaces appear larger with their reflective illusions. Place one near a window to create an illusion of more space and natural light. Mirrors in a small bedroom can make the small room both feel and look larger, brighter and more open. Amplifying any natural light that comes into your room is key, particularly where you may have limited space to do much else.

And they don’t have to be expensive either; you can find a variety of affordable options at places like IKEA or Target. You could also consider wall-mounted mirrors for a modern vibe. I recently found the most perfect mirror for my own bedroom. I knew I was after an arched shaped mirror and was really looking for one that had a silver or chrome accent. Luckily I found the perfect one to place on my narrow dresser.

ArtworkArtwork is an easy way to add personality and style to any room. Choose pieces that fit the overall aesthetic of your bedroom, such as abstract prints or landscape paintings. By following these design tips, you can easily create a luxurious design, yet affordable small bedroom that looks just as good as any large one.

There are many places to find cheap affordable art outside of making something yourself. Sometimes a really good frame can elevate the art piece too.

Bedside Tables– A bedside table is a great way to create additional surface space in your bedroom. Bedside tables are invaluable furniture pieces and a practical choice for furniture when decorating any bedroom.

Whether you’re outfitting a traditional setup or a contemporary one, you’ll find the perfect bedside table to complete your space. Try finding one with a modern design, or pick an antique piece that can double as a small nightstand. Styling a bedside table with decor books or a beautiful table lamp can also make a big difference in the room’s overall look.

What I’ve come to realize when budgeting for furnishings in my own bedroom, is that some costs can be cut by making your own furniture or decor. A narrow bedside table is one of those things. Check out this beautiful travertine bedside table that I made after lusting over a very expensive CB2 side table. I wasn’t wiling to go over budget and I ended up D.I.Y.-ing something that I actually think looks quite chic!

Window Treatments-if you have big beautiful windows I would suggest allowing that to be the focal point of your bedroom. Note that window treatments should compliment your window not hide them. Curtains or shades can add vertical space by creating the illusion of taller ceilings as well. This can be achieved by placing them higher to the ceiling. They can also add a layer of privacy to sleeping area and keep the room from being too bright in the morning.

Window treatments can be costly, but online home decor shops like Wayfair and Ikea make them pretty affordable and those are typically my go to. I for one love sheer curtains for a bedroom with beautiful windows and one that gets a lot of natural light. In my opinion this makes the space feel relaxed and tranquil which is what you want in a bedroom. If you do want some options for blocking out all that light at times, then opt for some retractable blind panels like these. That way you still get the option to show off your windows.

These design tips will help you create a beautiful, luxurious small bedroom without breaking the bank. With careful planning and thoughtful choices, you can create an inviting bedroom luxurious enough to never want to leave! Good luck!
