Elevated Homewares To Keep Your Eye On

Are you looking to evolve your home decor situation in the new year? Well if that’s your goal then lucky for you today I’m sharing two of my favorite types of homeware items on the market that are so stylish they’re guaranteed to elevate your home’s interior design.

Creating a home full of refined and elevated homewares takes a little bit of work, after all Rome wasn’t built in a day. There are so many beautiful pieces of furniture and accessories and homeware collections, that we can no longer forfeit style for functionality alone. And from time to time I make it a point to share them so I can help you create the home of your dreams. From craftsmanship to product design, fabrics and basic functional uses, home decor is always a great way to re-energize your space if you’re looking to do so.

I don’t know if I’m alone in this way of thinking, but the second I stumble upon some beautifully designed homeware items, I immediately start visualizing that item in a specific space in my home. But wait, it doesn’t stop there. I think about precisely where I’d have this item displayed and I think about the other decor items that would be surrounding it. After that I consider the material and coloring of those surrounding items because of course this new item has to live in harmony amongst my existing furnishings. It’s a process, but all of that happens in a flash in my head.

Carefully Curate

And while I’m mostly just highlighting my neurosis when it comes to shopping, I’m also aware of the fact that, that is good practice for home decor shopping. Rather than falling for every interior and home decor trend, consider your own space and the items that currently fill it and what could be additive to it. Think of your home as a museum in which everything in it is carefully curated! Of course don’t actually think of your home as a museum. There are plenty of decorative objects and furnishings that can give your home some life yet!

Try to be cognizant of the one central theme, coloring, design style in your own space. This is especially important to pay attention to if you live in a small home or tiny apartment. You want to make sure that anything you buy has longevity in your own interior design and isn’t just taking up precious space.

Elevated homeware should be able to stand the test of time and bring somewhat of a sophistication to your interior design. So let’s take a look at a couple of elevated homewares and aesthetic design ideas that could take your home to the next level.

Playfully Fun Homeware

We can start by saying who doesn’t love a disco ball moment in interior design? As most trends tend to be some iteration of the past, I do love when they comeback in an inspiring way. The disco ball as decorative objects in the home are quite the statement piece considering home is not exactly the environment you’d imagine them in. There’s something about their silvery sparkle that will draw any and all gaze across many different interiors.

Livingetc does a great piece on the topic and supports the idea that what was once synonymous with the nightlife of the 70’s is now a fun and lively way to play with your interior design. And interior designers definitely recognize that energy and are taking it to another level. One such American designer mentioned in the article is Kelly Wearstler born and raised in Los Angeles, who was inspired to create her melting disco balls as a way to be playful with your space. The disco ball is giving fun homeware and sparkly homeware at it’s best!

In the same youthful spirit, we’re seeing pastels and fun colors are also having a moment in homeware, specifically glassware. And lately I haven’t been able to get my mind of off colorful glassware. There is something so playful about colorful glassware in particular that I find so stunning, delicate and youthful.

Just about every homeware brand who’s websites I regularly peruse has got a collection of colorful glassware. Check out these gorgeous pastel glassware candle holders or these stem glasses. Personally, glassware is where my focus when it comes to these cheerful pastels. With beautiful drink wear, how could anyone not take notice?

Fashionably Functional Homeware

I really started to pay more attention to the functionality of home decor and design aesthetic after my trip from Copenhagen Denmark, where Danish design is king. The Danes and Swedes have always been notoriously good for incorporating both form and function in interior design and home decor. In fact, elevated homewares seems to be a given out there as both form and function have always been important aspects of design for decades.

And there is notably one particular home decor retailer that sells a range of home furnishing items and that have completely got my attention at the moment. Elevated homewares and CB2 go hand in hand at this point. This home decor retailer offers both high ticket price items and affordable luxury home furnishing products that grab my attention time and time again.

What I love the most about CB2 is they can take something as ordinary as divider and make it so aesthetically pleasing and so cool looking. Down below are a couple of my favorite home furnishing items right now.
